The Lion Group first
started its journey back in 1910s with a shoe manufacturing
business. Before that they had other businesses, but this shoe
manufacturing business was started by late Mr Mirza Abdul Kader
Sarder, former Chairman of Lion Group. He was popularly known as
Kader Sarder, who hails from a respectable family of Islampur of
old Dhaka and was the last Chief of the Sarder of the famous
Panchayet System of Dhaka during Pre-Pakistan days. Later in
1920s he first introduced a commercial theater in the country
named Lion Theater. After that the group has diversified in
different areas like electronic, toys, agro, trading, films production,
